If one were to really synthesize what the Olympic festivities are all about, it is possible to make the case that a vast majority of Olympic sporting events ultimately boils down to figuring out who has become most supreme at manipulating/maximizing the desired projectile motion(s) for their sport! And so, as one of our culminating events for the week, we turn our attention to studying and exploring various factors that can impact the trajectories of a projectile. We then challenge students to come up with their own signature Catapult Olympic games to take home in our attempt to help keep the Olympic spirit alive long after this week of summer camp…
